Website Relaunch...

It still needs a little work, but I relaunched my website last night. I think it looks a lot better and is much more updated than the old one.
Check it out!

I'm back

Actually I didn't go anywhere, I have just been too busy to post. I figured I'd better get caught up!
Yesterday was my niece Kayla's 20th birthday. I was there at the hospital the day she was born. It hardly seems like it was 20 years ago! To celebrate her birthday, I made her a "Turning Twenty" quilt. I mailed it off last week and she received it on Monday. She was thrilled with it.

Did I mention that I am in love with my new slopers? I have so many ideas for how to use them! Here is the first thing that I have made with them. Hopefully I can get my niece Alexa to model this for me and get some better pictures. I also have a dress planned that I want to make with them.

I also started working on some skirts for Etsy for the Christmas season. I have about 11 of them planned, we will see how many actually get finished. LOL
Here is the first one. They will all be the same style, but just different sizes and fabrics.

I have also been doing a major overhaul of my website. Stay tuned for the re-release of that sometime in the next couple of weeks. I am about half finished with it. There is still a lot more work to do, though. Website upkeep is just so time intensive.

I thought I'd throw this picture in, too. Do you remember the coffee table I got a couple of weeks ago at a garage sale? It has the glass tiles in it and my cat cannot figure it out. We laugh so hard at her. I had to get a picture this morning. She can't figure out that her mouse is on top of the table. LOL

Deals of the week...

I found some great deals this week!
I got all of this fabric (10 yards) and elastic (20 yards) at Crafts Direct this last week. I had a $10 gift certificate and it was all on clearance. Total cost $15.70!

My next door neighbor was having a garage sale today and I got this great coffee table for $15.00. It needs just a little cleaning up, but it is in pretty good shape. It is just a little large for our space, but it will be nice to have a coffee table, finally. Now, if I could just get some other new furniture...LOL

As you can see, the nosey inspector had to inspect it immediately. LOL.

EDITED TO ADD...
Marie over at AJ quilts is looking to buy more of this fabric. She has moved since purchasing it and needs more to finish a quilt top. If you know where it can be bought pop on over to her blog and let her know.

Today's IGP...

I threw this little sundress together this afternoon. It was a nice easy little project out of a seersucker remnant I bought about a year ago. It will be heading to Etsy as soon as I can get some better pictures of it. It is about a size 4 or so. It measures 24 inches from top to bottom. I think I will make some more of these. Anyone interested in a tutorial?

I have a question, too. I have been thinking of asking some people that I know if their children can model some of my clothes. I am thinking of re-doing my website. (It seems to be about a yearly thing for me.) The thing is, I can't really afford to compensate them much for it. I would offer them a copy of all of the pictures on cd, maybe print some off for them as well and offer a discount on an outfit if they would like one. Do you think that would be adequate compensation?

I also ordered my first set of slopers in sizes 2-6x this morning. I got the princess bodice style. Stay tuned for more adventures in pattern drafting.....

We'll try this for a while

I felt like I needed a new background. I tend to get bored easily, LOL. I have been enjoying this color combination lately, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
In other news I have not been sewing much this week. I did manage to get the quilting done on Kayla's "Turning Twenty". With a little more help from the Boogsie, LOL.

I have yet to cut and do the border. I need to get hopping on it, though. Her birthday is the 29th of this month and I still have to mail it to Illinois. Today, however includes laundry, house cleaning and a wedding reception. (Where I hope to see my good friend Amanda and her family! Yay!)

I would ask, also that you remember my sister, Janet, in your prayers. She is in the hospital with some complications of a surgery that she had done and is in quite a lot of pain.

I hope that you all have a good weekend!

Quilting with Boogie....

Do you see what I must contend with on a regular basis? LOL
She thinks she's helping, I'm sure. :0)

Hope you all have great holiday!
I just thought I'd quickly share the quilt top I finally finished last night. I made this mostly with scraps left over from my Happy Hour quilt, which I have yet to finish, LOL. Not sure of the fate of this quilt yet, but I love the colors in it. It is just a small size quilt, too.
