Happy Birthday A!

My good friend Amanda's little girl turns 3 today!
I sent her this little dress as a gift. The pattern is a German pattern from Farbenmix called "Feliz Party Dress". It is such a fun and versatile pattern. I just keep looking for little girls to make one for.
Amanda has been such a dear friend to me for so many years. It was an absolute joy to be able to make this little dress for her sweet little girl.

I love spring!!!!

Just a few shots from my yard this morning. I love this time of year when all the plants and flowers are waking up!

I finally got my bird feeders filled and hung. I've had birds at the seed feeder, but haven't seen any hummers yet.

The little violas are blooming.

My peonies are up

The sedum is also up.

My tulips opened this morning. I love the insides of them!

These are the sweetest little daffodils ever! They are a miniature variety and they are just tiny little things. So cute!

The first signs of life on my lilac bush.

The blue grape hyacinths are beginning to bloom

The daylilies are greening up.

The pink hyacinths are trying to bloom.

The vinca is blooming, too!

Happy Birthday Kitties!

Sasha

Aeris

Today is Aeris's 4th birthday. We don't know when Sasha's birthday is, most likely sometime in June or July. She will be 12 this summer. We just recognize both of them on Aeris's birthday. These pictures say everything about their personalities, too. :)

Like my new hat?

I used a bunch of my leftover strings and made this funky hat on my knifty knitter this week. The strings were anywhere from about a quarter inch wide to about three-quarters inch wide. Strings that were really too small to use for any sort of sewing project I could think of. I only had one rip on me and it was one of the skinnier ones and wasn't cut straight on the grain of the fabric. I also had a piece of flannel selvege in there which was a bit too thick to work with. Otherwise it was pretty easy going. I just knotted the fabric together at the ends with square knots. I used the yellow loom for a hat for myself. I think these would be great for kids, though using one of the smaller looms. It was a super easy and quick project to use up those strings that have been haunting me. I was inspired by Amanda's rug, but I didn't have big needles for it, and didn't really want to buy them, either.

On an other note, I found something I simply must try. I don't know when I will get around to doing it, but this quilt is awesome!
I have soooo many scraps, I'm sure I can come up with enough 2.5 x 4.5 rectangles to do it. LOL I have basically done nothing with my scraps until about the last year or so, and I have been collecting scraps in the neighborhood of ten years. I think I have plenty. I actually think this could be very pretty in a monochromatic theme, too, using different values of the same color against the white. You could go from dark to light and back again or vice versa.

New Ebay listing....

Just listed this on Ebay....
The BIN price is 5.00 off the price listed on my website and at Etsy. Starting bid is $15 off the regular price.

I have been so busy lately that I have hardly had time to do any sewing. So much to do and so little time!

A little update...

I finished the bento box quilt top actually a couple of weeks ago, I just never could seem to get around to posting it. LOL
I am toying with the idea of doing a bright fuschia pink backing on this quilt. What do you think?

I took this weekend off from doing any sewing. My husband and I both needed new slippers, soooo I pulled out some scrap yarn and went to work. I used this tutorial and made two sets of slippers using my knifty knitter. Gotta love that handy little thing. It took me about 4 hours per pair. While making them, I sat and watched TV for a while and then my husband played video games for a while. It was sort of nice to just hang out with him. I am usually holed up in my sewing room, so this was a nice change. It might not have taken quite so long to make them if my yarn had been wrapped better and my cat wasn't trying to "help" as she usually does. :0)
