I have discovered a new addiction...

A knitting machine! :) I was very generously given this knitting machine by a family friend when I was down in Illinois visiting my family in June. I had my first lesson on it Saturday before last and I think I am hooked! I have been experimenting with it ever since. I made a couple of sample pieces, and a couple of dishcloths and then attempted my first pattern. I made this baby sweater from a free pattern I found on the internet. I think it turned out soooo cute! I had three of the sweetest little buttons in my stash which worked perfectly for it. I will be donating it at church. I could see myself cranking out a bunch more of these in all sorts of colors. It is made with
Red Heart's Luster Sheen yarn. I am now attempting to alter the sizing of this pattern by using a different yarn and a looser tension. For this on I am using
Caron's Spa yarn which is an acrylic/bamboo blend. It is knitting up SO beautifully! It is wonderfully soft and has just a bit of a sheen to it. I have so many ideas running through my head now, LOL. I want to just experiment with all of them, but.... I do have some sewing I need to do, and unfortunately, they don't both fit on my sewing desk at the same time. Sigh...I guess I will have to pack her up for a couple of weeks while I finish the sewing I need to do.
