Been busy this weekend...

I finished the bright little pillowcase dress and got it listed over at Etsy. I also got something else almost done for the Etsy shop, too. I just need to make the bloomers to go with it. It is a little reversible A line sundress. It is made in shades of turquoise and ivory. I am in LOVE with this fabric. :)

I have been thinking.... I have 5 birthdays looming ahead of me in the next couple of months. I need to get my hiney in gear and get some things done for them! First is my niece Alexa who will be 6 in April. I know I swore off making things for her because it seems she doesn't wear them that much, maybe it is just because I don't see her that much. Maybe she does wear them? I have an idea of something for her, though that I think would be really cute. I am thinking of a pillowcase top in a dog fabric as she is nuts about dogs. Then I am thinking a pair of pull on pants in a light chambray cuffed up with little button tabs made with the dog fabric to hold up the cuffs. I know she doesn't really wear dresses, but maybe she would wear something like this? I am thinking something similar for the next birthday, too. My niece Mady who will be 3 in May. I'd use a different fabric for her, though. Maybe a floral calico or something. Then there are my two older nieces, Kayla, who will be 19 in July and Allison, who will be 16 in May. I am thinking maybe purses for them? I need to find a cute, easy, cheap pattern for them. Then I plan on doing a quilt for my sister whose birhtday is in June. I really should also get the yellow and blue quilt done, too. The baby that that is for is due in May, too. That is just a matter of sandwiching, quilting and binding. I might just wind up giving Kayla and Alli money if I run out of time. LOL! It is a good thing that the other May birthday is my nephew who will also be 16 (Jason's brother's son Andrew, and my sister's daughter, Allison are one day apart in age!). Andy doesn't require handmades, a donation to the car fund is all he asks! LOL. The other niece, Megan doesn't have her birthday until September, so that is a little breather! I think I'm going to have a busy couple of months!

I guess I'd better get busy!

how about a swap??? I would gladly make a few purses for your nieces in exchange for that adorable little pillowcase dress (the white one) if you let me know what colors you want for the purses. what do you think? I have several styles of purses that I have made, successfully, not like my latest creation. I think that we could come up with something suitable for your nieces. let me know! I could probably even get them done by the time of our trip.

Hmmmm..... that's a thought.... Might have to take you up on it! Let me give it some thought. That dress cost me nothing to make as it was all stuff from my stash. My mom gave me that material years ago and it just wasn't big enough to do much with. I wouldn't feel right not giving you anything for the purses as they would be more work than that dress was and there's more materials involved. I would have to pay ya SOMETHING...As far as colors? I don't have a clue. Probably something fun and funky, teenager like. I need to talk to my sister and see if she thinks they would like purses or not. I'm just so out of touch with what they like these days. Thanks for offering, I'll let ya know.
