Do you quilters out there sign your quilts? If so, how do you do it? Do you embroider labels? Do you do it with a permanent marker? I am debating whether or not to label the block swap quilt that I am planning to give away. I am too lazy to embroider a label for it (mostly because I am itching to get it done) but I am afraid that a permanent marker will fade and look bad over time. Are there special markers that you are supposed to use for this?

I don't label my quilts, but I always hear you should. Looking forward to reading about other quilters' thoughts.
I use a sharpie on a separate piece of fabric, then I stitch it on by hand as neat as I can. (just don't use spray adhesive to try to tack it on while slip stitching... it will make the sharpie bleed.)
Everything I learned, I learned from amandajean- so I'm with her! ;)
I have never even thought to label them. If I had and embroidery machine I think I would do it that way.
My ex's mother used to do this thing where she taped the fabric to a stiff sheet of paper and ran it through the printer to add her signature/special messages by computer. It looked great, but I don't remember exactly what she did.
