Estherlyn's Jumper on S is for Sewing

All photos are courtesy of Ana Sofia and S is for Sewing

Today I am privileged to be a part of Ana Sofia's S is for Sewing blog. Ana Sofia has written a review of my Estherlyn's Jumper pattern.

I have been following S is for Sewing for quite a while now, and I am always impressed with the beautiful things that Ana Sofia sews for her daughter.  I am truly honored that she would take the time to review my pattern.  I just love this beautiful blue print that she chose and the trims are very pretty as well!

I encourage you to stop by her blog and read the review, but also just spend some time perusing all the lovely posts she has written in the past.  You won't be disappointed.

Join me again Monday for the third variation of the Shoulder Tie Dress Mod Monday series and again the following Monday for the link party to share what you have created.

Until next time, Happy Sewing!

Estherlyn's Jumper: Using the Applique Shapes - The Flower Shape

Goodness, has it really been a week since my last post!  It's been a bit of a busy week for me so I apologize for the lack of posts.  I promise I have some fun posts planned for the future.  I had a fun little photo shoot with three little beauties last week for an upcoming series, so be on the lookout for that coming up in September.

Are you mashing along with Ajaire this month?  If so, I have good news for you!  I have renewed the discount codes for my Estherlyn's Jumper at Etsy and my Big Cartel shop and the price is still reduced at Craftsy.  The code is MASHUP and will be in effect through the last day of August.  There is still plenty of time to join in the fun!

Last week I showed some ideas for using the heart shape that comes with the Estherlyn's Jumper pattern.  This week I have some ideas for the flower shape to show you.  Hopefully these will get your creativity going and you will come up with your own ideas.

First of all some ideas using the flower shapes just as they are.  You can use them individually or you can layer them together.

My favorite designs use an added center.  You could use a button, a yo-yo, or maybe a small circle, or maybe an embroidered center.  I think a running stitch in a spiral in the center would be cute. Again, you can layer them if you like.  The layering can be centered or not centered, I think it is fun either way. The choices are really up to you.

I hope that these have given you some ideas all your own to use on your jumper.  If you make one I'd love to see you share your creation on the MCM Studio Designs Facebook Page, and don't forget to blog about it and share the link at Ajaire's blog.

Until next time,
Happy Sewing!

Who Won the Estherlyn's Jumper Pattern?

Helen Moore, you are the winner of the Estherlyn's Jumper pattern! I have replied to your comment. Congratulations and have fun sewing!

Estherlyn's Jumper With Ruffles

Yet another way to dress up your Estherlyn's Jumper is to add ruffles.  Tester Georgia Anderson did this with her fun patriotic version of the jumper.

I could see this done with ruffle added to the hem as well.  Or, perhaps, a small ruffle added across the bottom of the yoke.  Maybe even all three.

Another ruffled idea that I have not had time to try, but am dying to see done is to add ruffles to the skirt of the dress under the apron.  Wouldn't this just be the cutest?

Don't forget to comment to be included in the drawing!  The winner will be announced tomorrow morning on the blog!  Win the pattern and sew up your own Estherlyn's Jumper!  I would love to see it. :)

Until next time!
Happy sewing!

Estherlyn's Jumper with a Patch Pocket

Today's design idea is another very simple one. Char Anderson, who was one of the testers who helped with this pattern, decided to add a patch pocket to the front of the dress that she made for her daughter.  I liked the idea so much that I decided to include simple shapes in the pattern that can be used for patch pockets or appliqué.  You may chose from a heart, a star, a four petal flower or a traditional pocket shape.  Multiple sizes of each shape are included so that you can customize your own look.  I also included a link to the tutorial section here at the blog where I have tutorials that show how to make patch pockets and how to do heat bonded machine appliqué.

The added shapes are something that I intend to add to each new pattern that I release.  I think it's just a fun little addition that will help you customize your garments to your own style and taste.

Don't forget that I will be giving away a copy of the Estherlyn's Jumper Pattern on Thursday!

Until next time,

The Testers Have Been Testing!

It's been a bit of a bumpy ride and I have a lot more work to do, but I thought I'd share a few of the tester photos of my first pattern, Estherlyn's Jumper.  I am so thankful for my testers and all of the
